The dates for the field review of the ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards to be presented at the ACR 2018 meeting are:
The Practice Parameters and Technical Standards that will be presented at the ACR annual meeting are available for review and commenting by the entire ACR membership during field review. This is the time changes to the documents can be suggested by ACR members and collaborating societies and considered by the Committee.
It is important that everyone who has an interest in the content of the practice parameters and technical standards review the documents and provide feedback during the Field Review Process.
The documents are placed in one of four scheduled field reviews and are available for review and commenting ONLY for those three weeks of the field review. Members will be informed through multiple ACR communications and marketing channels.
The ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards process in brief:
The committee draft versions of the ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards are posted on the ACR web site during one of four field review cycles. Each field review period lasts three weeks.
ACR members are encouraged to review and comment on the documents through our web based portal using the Online Commenting program. Reminders are emailed before each cycle to all members and including those on the relevant ACR committees and commissions.
At the end of each field review cycle, the comments are collated and reviewed by the assigned chair from the Council Steering Committee. The assigned chair determines if a conference call to discuss the comments is necessary. If a call in needed, ACR staff will arrange a call with the committee and other volunteer members to review and revise the draft practice parameters and technical standards as needed.
Each society that collaborated on the document will review and comment also. Also, the collaborating society will be asked to acknowledge the revised document that will be presented at the annual meeting.
Your feedback on the practice parameters and technical standards not only helps improve radiology, but supports the ACR core values of leadership, integrity, quality and innovation.
