Fellow of the American College of Radiology is a prestigious award that is conferred by the Board of Chancellors. The
Committee on Fellowship Credentials measures each candidate's credentials against the Nomination Criteria rubric where members are not in competition with one another. The CFC forwards its nominations to the Board of Chancellors for its review and approval decisions.
Eligibility
The minimum eligibility requirement is 10 cumulative post-training ACR membership years and at least one criterion among one or more of these domains from the Nomination Criteria:
- Service to the ACR at national or chapter level(s) and/or
organized radiology/medicine at national, regional, state, or local
levels
- Outstanding teaching of diagnostic radiology,
interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, and/or
medical physics
- Significant scientific or clinical research in radiology or significant contributions to the literature

Guidance
You are encouraged to review the FACR Guidelines, ACR Bylaws and Nomination Criteria prior to beginning an application. Seek guidance from the fellowship chair of your chapter to review if current achievements reflect ready to submit an application. Military members may use the Military Nomination Criteria and contact FACR staff to be connected with the CFC for guidance.
Endorsements
At least two current Fellows must endorse your application; only one endorsing Fellow may be from the same local business entity. An All ACR Fellows list is posted below for your reference to help identify your potential endorsers. Use the membership directory to identify the correct email addresses by which to directly submit your endorsement requests through the application platform.
Candidate Application Deadline
FACR Candidate: ACR members who begin or submit an FACR application are FACR candidates having met the minimum eligibility by cumulative membership years to apply. View your chapter's submission deadline to avoid missing the submission deadline. Your application deadline is determined by the submission date required by your chapter. You must submit a complete application before the chapter-designated deadline to be eligible for chapter review. A complete application including at least two endorsement letters must be submitted before the submission deadline below; continually reminder your endorsers of the submission deadline.. You will not be permitted to submit an FACR application after your chapter's designated application submission deadline.
Chapter Review Deadline
Application Reviewers: Chapter officers review candidate-submitted applications after the chapter submission deadline as listed in the drop down menu below. Chapter leaders are assigned applications (President, President Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Fellowship Chair) for chapter review on the day after the chapter-designated candidate application submission deadline. All recommendations must be entered into the application platform no later than June 30, 2023. Late applications will not be accepted from candidates nor chapter reviewers.
Convocation Ceremony
Attendance at the convocation ceremony during the Annual Meeting is necessary for the honor to be conferred. Members who apply in 2023 will receive notification letters by late October 2023. Those elected by the ACR Board of Chancellors to become Fellows will participate in the April 2024 Convocation Ceremony in Washington, DC, unless BOC approval is deferred to a subsequent convocation year.
