The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the calendar year (CY) 2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) proposed rule late Monday, August 3. The ACR will urge CMS against its proposal to move forward with changes to coding and valuation for evaluation and management (E/M) services. If finalized, those changes will result in significant reimbursement cuts to specialties that do not perform E/M services, including radiology. ACR staff have prepared a preliminary summary of the proposed rule. The College will provide formal feedback to CMS in the coming weeks.
