The online modules on ethics and professionalism, produced by the American Board of Radiology Foundation (ABRF), are designed to educate physicians and physicists about attributes and nuances of ethics and professionalism essential to the practice of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology and medical physics.

An expert team of individuals has developed each module. They have been peer reviewed for content, quality and clarity. Each module is self-guided and includes self-testing features to help the reader assess comprehension and apply the principles and practices described in the module.

The modules provide a basic understanding of ethics and professionalism issues, covering the following topics:

  • Historical Evolution and Principles of Medical Professionalism
  • Physician-Physician and Physician-Patient Interactions
  • Conflict of Interest
  • Relationships with Vendors
  • Professionalism in Everyday Practice; the Physician Charter

Because the mission of the ABRF is to demonstrate, enhance and continuously improve accountability to the public in the use of medical imaging and radiation therapy, the ABRF and the supporters listed below provide these modules without charge to all who can benefit from them. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and has been qualified by the ABR for SAM credit in fulfillment of MOC requirements.
