The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) released a detailed summary of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 2023 Medicare Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (HOPPS) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Final Rule. The summary provides details about radiology-related issues, including the estimated OPPS expenditures for 2023, ambulatory payment classification (APC) placement of relevant imaging codes, updates to the hospital outpatient quality reporting program, and additional information regarding reimbursement for software as a service (SaaS) procedures.
The finalized changes take effect Jan 1, 2023.
