Earlier this week, an American College of Radiology® (ACR®)-led coalition of physician and non-physician provider organizations sent a letter to Reps. Raul Ruiz, MD (D-CA), Larry Bucshon, MD (R-IN), Ami Bera, MD (D-CA), and Mariannette Miller-Meeks, MD (R-IA), thanking them for introducing H.R. 2474, the Strengthening Medicare for Patients and Providers Act. The legislation would add a permanent, MEI-based inflationary update to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS).
In the letter, ACR and more than 100 other organizations demonstrated broad support for the legislation and stressed the importance of adding an inflationary update to the MPFS for to ensure our members have fiscal stability as they continue to provide healthcare to patients in an increasingly challenging environment.
On May 10, ACR members participating in the College’s annual Hill Day will be asking their House members to join Reps. Ruiz, Bucshon, Bera and Miller-Meeks and co-sponsor H.R. 2474. This echoes the call-to-action last month by the Radiology Advocacy Network, urging ACR members to contact their House member to support HR 2474. To date, the CTA has rendered almost 1,400 emails to House members.
