Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) contractor Acumen has developed five episode-based cost measures that will be available for field testing in January: emergency medicine, heart failure, low back pain, major depressive disorder and psychoses/related conditions. This unique testing opportunity allows specialty societies and other stakeholders to share feedback about these measures before they are submitted to CMS for potential inclusion in accountability programs.
Measure specifications, field testing reports and other supplemental materials will be available on the CMS website Jan. 10 to Feb. 25.
