The U.S. Senate Committee on Finance held a hearing April 11 — Bolstering Chronic Care Through Medicare Physician Payment — continuing Congress’ consideration of long-term Medicare reform. The committee convened with invited witnesses from the physician community, including representatives from the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Surgeons.

Witnesses detailed existing structural issues both in Medicare’s fee-for-service and value-based care programs that impede their ability to practice medicine. The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) will continue its work with Congress on substantive Medicare payment reform to ensure beneficiaries continue to have access to high quality patient care.

Additional information, including witness testimony and a stream of the hearing, is available on the Finance Committee’s website.
