MedPAC June Report to Congress Suggests Medicare Fee-For-Service Clinician Payment Changes

The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) released its June 2024 Report to Congress June 13, outlining its evaluations of several issues affecting the Medicare program. Topics outlined in the report include two suggested approaches for updating fee-for-service clinician payments, incentivizing participation in advanced alternative payment models, paying for software technologies in Medicare, and several issues related to Medicare Advantage.
MedPAC, is the nonpartisan independent legislative branch agency that provides Congress with analysis and policy recommendations on Medicare issues including payments, services, access and regulations. Its mission is to preserve beneficiaries’ access to high-quality care, control Medicare spending growth, and provide sufficient payment for efficient providers.
