Read moreWhile the federal government is shut down, ACR® is proactively working to ensure the Radiology Outpatient Ordering Transmission (ROOT) Act (H.R. 5737) advances in Congress. The ROOT Act was introduced Oct. 10, by U.S. Reps. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN) and Blake Moore (R-UT); it is a companion bill to S. 1692, introduced in May by U.S. Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV).
Contact your representative today and urge them to cosponsor H.R. 5737. ACR members can play a key role in advancing legislation and your advocacy in promoting the ROOT Act is vital.
H.R. 5737 is intended to fix challenges with CMS’ implementation of the imaging appropriate use criteria (AUC) section of the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014. It would simplify the administration of the AUC program and is estimated to save up to $1.4 billion for Medicare beneficiaries and up to $2 billion for the Medicare system in the next 10 years.
The College provides simple tools for you to contact your representative now.
