ACR® participated in the Rally for Medical Research, an annual event of more than 400 advocates, patients and scientists advocating for increased funding to NIH in fiscal year (FY) 2026 last week. The event included a Hill Day where participants met with lawmakers and staff to discuss the importance of NIH research, and an evening reception.
The reception included remarks from:
Sen. Baldwin thanked advocates for sharing their passion for NIH funding to lawmakers, and highlighted the proposed increases to the National Cancer Institute and Alzheimer’s research in the Senate’s FY 2026 LHHS bill.
As Congress works to finalize FY 2026 appropriations and faces a Sept. 30 deadline to avoid a government shutdown, ACR remains committed to advocating for NIH funding at the highest possible level. The College will continue to participate in coalition events and activities such as the Rally for Medical Research to ensure the voice of radiology is heard.
