Read moreAmerican College of Radiology® (ACR®)-supported legislation recently was introduced in the U.S. Senate and House with bipartisan support. The Physician and Patient Safety Act ensures physicians who are contracted but not directly employed by hospitals have the same due process rights as those who are directly employed by a hospital.
The legislation, led in the Senate by Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Roger Marshall, MD (R-KS), and in the House by Reps. Raul Ruiz, MD (D-CA) John Joyce, MD (R-PA), Katie Porter (D-CA), and Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC), has the support of several national medical specialty societies in addition to ACR, including the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Medical Association.
