Read moreThe American College of Radiology® (ACR®) is holding a 30-day public comment period for the new DXA: Improving Diagnosis of True Changes in Bone Mineral Density quality measure, which will be added to the ACR General Radiology Improvement Database (GRID). This measure is intended to improve the clinical management of patients undergoing serial DXA through standardized reporting of bone mineral density (BMD).
Comments received during the public comment period will influence the ACR technical expert panel (TEP) overseen by the ACR Commission on Quality and Safety Metrics Committee. The panel will incorporate input from the 30-day public comment period when refining the measure specifications.
Please support this initiative by participating in the comment period and encouraging other radiologists, facility administrators and patients to share their comments. The comment period will close Aug. 25.
For more information about ACR’s measure development initiatives, visit the College’s Performance Measures webpage. For questions about the DXA comment period, contact Samantha Shugarman, ACR Director of Quality Programs.
