ACR® joined multiple medical organizations in expressing support for the Mobile Cancer Screening Act (H.R. 4417). The bipartisan bill, introduced in July by cosponsors U.S. Reps. Raul Ruiz, MD (D-CA), Gabe Evans (R-CO) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), would significantly enhance access to cancer screening services for underserved and rural communities across the United States.
The organizations emphasized to cosponsors the importance of bringing cancer screening directly to the communities that need it most to ensure early detection and intervention, regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic status. They told lawmakers they will work them to advance the bill through Congress.
ACR and the medical community look forward to working with Congress to advance this legislation. For more information or if you have questions, contact Ashley Walton, ACR Government Affairs Director.
