ACR Applauds NRC for Adding IR to Medical Advisory Committee
ACR welcomes a new IR seat on the NRC advisory committee, strengthening expertise for radionuclide therapy, licensing and patient care.
Read moreACR®, in collaboration with the AMA and other specialty societies, is preparing for the January 2027, AMA/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) meeting. ACR launched five RUC surveys to random members related to bone age studies, central venous catheter insertion services, deep venous arterialization, renal nerve denervation and stab phlebectomy.
The College urges members who receive a survey and are familiar with the procedure to take a few minutes to complete it. Responses are critical and the timeline to respond is short. If you receive the same survey from more than one specialty society, complete only one as the multispecialty data will be aggregated.
Strong physician participation is what makes the RUC process effective. ACR respondents help ensure radiology services are appropriately valued. The information collected through these surveys will help determine physician reimbursement for these procedures when they are addressed by CMS as part of the 2028 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.
For questions about the survey process, contact Stephanie Le, Director of Economics and Health Policy.
