ACR Presents CPT Code Changes for Emerging Imaging Tools
ACR and partner societies proposed CPT updates for quantitative CT and AI risk scoring, but the AMA panel requested resubmission for refinement.
Read moreACR® recently sent a letter opposing Ohio Senate Bill 324, a bill that would expand the scope of practice for certified nurse practitioners (CNPs) and physician assistants (PAs) by exempting them from some profession-specific licensure requirements and allowing them to supervise limited-license X-ray personnel.
ACR opposes SB 324 because of the patient safety risks and because CNPs and PAs lack specific radiologic training. The bill is also opposed by the Ohio Radiological Society and other physician and non-physician groups.
For more information regarding SB 324 or other state issues, contact Dillon Harp, ACR Senior State Government Relations Specialist.
ACR continues to support state chapters with advocacy tools, including its State Issues page and grassroots resources. The College also partners with Fiscal Note to provide updates on radiology and healthcare legislation. Chapter leaders can contact Eugenia Brandt or Melody Ballesteros to receive state specific reports or help with calls to action.
