ACR 2026 Capitol Hill Day

Attendees for this year’s ACR Annual Meeting will have an opportunity to meet with their congressional offices on Wednesday, May 6, during the ACR’s Capitol Hill Day. This day provides an excellent opportunity for the radiology community to educate congressional staff on issues of concern to the radiology profession.

The Hill preparation briefing is scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, May 5, at the Washington Hilton.
The Hill preparation briefing provides detailed information for Hill participants on the legislative priorities to address during their congressional appointments. It is extremely important that you attend the Hill preparation briefing.

Don’t forget to bring business cards to hand out to the Members of Congress and staff you meet with during your appointments. Also bring your driver’s license or other form of ID in case that’s requested as you enter the congressional buildings.

This year we have reserved rooms at the Capitol Hill Club, 300 First Street, SE, to serve as our “Headquarters on the Hill”. There will be a continental breakfast as well as lunch served at this location.

This year, both the House and Senate have changed their schedules, and both are now in district work period the week of our Hill Day. This means that congressional members will not be in DC on our Hill Day. That said, your meetings with congressional staff are still important as congressional staff are well-informed, approachable, responsive and have the ear of the legislator.

Security in and around the Congressional Office Buildings remain tight. Due to the tight security, Capitol Hill attendees will NOT be permitted to bring their luggage to Capitol Hill with them. While we realize this might be an inconvenience, we do not have control over the security issues on Capitol Hill. We recommend that you make your appointments with enough time to return back to the hotel to get your luggage before catching your flight.

You should plan to wear business attire for your Capitol Hill visits. WE ARE ASKING PARTICIPANTS TO WEAR A WHITE COAT FOR THE HILL DAY.

The RADPAC and RAN Booth will have congressional visit materials to help prepare Capitol Hill attendees for their meetings. These materials will be available on Monday, May 4.
We encourage that one representative from each state pick up the “leave behind packets”. Individual attendees can stop by the booth to get their own packet. The materials will also be available on the College’s Hill Day App.

Transportation will be provided to the Capitol Hill Club in the morning and will also be provided back to the hotel in the afternoon. The closest metro stop to the CHC is Capitol South Station (Orange Line).
