Preparing radiology residents and fellows for high-stakes, structured case competency
Course Description
The ACR Institute for Radiologic Pathology (AIRP) Hot Seat Course is a two-day, weekend case-based program designed to prepare radiology residents and fellows for high-stakes, structured case competency. The course emphasizes real-world clinical reasoning, clear verbal communication and efficient case management under time-focused conditions, closely mirroring the format and expectations of real-life case readouts.
The course places participants directly “in the hot seat,” and simulates the ways radiologists will need to present oral cases while strengthening clear, confident and well-reasoned case presentation skills.
Led by expert faculty from the AIRP the program integrates findings across multiple subspecialties, reinforcing the critical principles of radiology.
Participants will engage in highly interactive sessions featuring unknown case reviews, rapid-fire Q&A and faculty-guided discussions that emphasize diagnostic reasoning, differential diagnosis and effective communication under pressure.
Whether you are looking to enhance your interpretive and presentation skills or simply seek a focused learning experience, this course offers a high-yield, genuine opportunity designed to support peak performance when it matters most.
