The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) is launching an American Medical Association/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) survey for Endovascular Therapy with imaging. Participation of ACR members that receive the survey is vital to provide the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) with accurate physician work and time recommendations that assist in determining payment values. Submitted data will be compiled, sorted and presented at the April 2024 RUC meeting.
The survey is circulated to a random selection of ACR members with a short response period necessitating recipients’ prompt completion.
The survey involves collaboration with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Society of Neuroradiology, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society, and Society of Interventional Radiology. ACR members that receive a survey might receive more than one if they are a member of multiple societies. Only one survey should be completed.
All discussions, including the final RUC-approved values, are confidential. The values will be recommended to CMS by February 2025 for eventual implementation in the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. CMS has the authority to revise or refine RUC-approved values based on its own review.
