Standardized Tool for the Assessment of Radiology Students (STARS)
Web-based question database designed for medical students.
The Standardized Tool for the Assessment of Radiology Students (STARS) is a joint initiative by the Alliance of Medical Student Educators in Radiology (AMSER) and the American College of Radiology® (ACR®). It offers medical schools web-based exams designed to assess students' performance throughout their radiology courses.
Instructors choose from exams created and vetted by AMSER. The STARS editorial committee is responsible for reviewing and refining the questions as well as developing standardized exams. Use of STARS is free for medical student programs.
How to Participate
The STARS exams are accessed through the ACR Learning Management System (LMS).
There are three exams available:
- STARS Practice Exam
- STARS Standardized Version 1
- STARS Standardized Version 2
Students must use their ACR login or create a free ACR login to access the LMS. For access or login questions, please contact learnersupport@acr.org.
Once on the platform, the student will select the exam they are required to complete and self-enroll. The student is responsible for enrolling and completing the exam in the time allotted by the faculty. ACR is not responsible for monitoring students or their activity.
At the end of the exam, the student will download and provide their score report to their faculty. It is the responsibility of the student to provide their score report in a timely manner. Students always have access to their score reports.
