Turning Complexity Into Clarity

The 2026 RLI Summit equips radiologists to lead through one of healthcare’s most transformative moments. As AI reshapes the profession, success depends not only on technology, but on the human skills needed to lead change, build trust and turn innovation into impact.

Led by Babson College faculty and respected radiology leaders, this highly interactive Summit blends business-school frameworks with real-world cases to strengthen communication, credibility and applied AI decision-making.

Whether you lead formally or through influence, you’ll leave with sharper clarity, a stronger leadership presence and an actionable plan to guide AI and change in your practice — tools you can use immediately.

During these immersive three days, participants will:

Navigate conflict and resistance using practical frameworks to lead difficult conversations and build buy-in

Communicate with confidence by addressing AI anxiety, aligning stakeholders and reinforcing the radiologist’s trusted role in patient care

Create a focused communication plan to address a real-world AI challenge and align stakeholder priorities

Build agency in the AI era by developing skills to shape how AI is introduced and applied

Design a pilot with clear value metrics to test how AI tools can reduce workload and improve efficiency

The RLI Summit kicks off with the Resident & Young Physician’s Leadership Program on Thursday evening, from 6 – 9pm ET. Free to residents and all Summit attendees, the program reflects a mix of both topical and timeless business management and leadership content designed specifically for rising leaders.

In this interactive session, participants explore leadership competencies needed when technological change intersects with career uncertainty and stakeholder pressure, drawing on business‑school frameworks and real‑world radiology examples. Participants will learn strategies to engage diverse stakeholders—from skeptical colleagues to ROI‑focused administrators—with credibility, authenticity, and strategic clarity. Through applied exercises and discussion, they will develop a practical, organization‑specific AI communication plan and leave with tangible tools to lead AI change confidently, responsibly, and with purpose. 8:30 – Noon	AI for Operational Effectiveness and Growth Radiology leaders are facing sustained workforce pressures and increasing throughput demands, making operational efficiency more critical than ever. This session positions AI as a practical lever for both operational and personal effectiveness, focusing on low‑friction applications that reduce rework, coordination costs, and cognitive load. Participants will identify key workflows that must be redesigned for AI to generate real value, clarify how AI may augment their own leadership roles, and compare vendor point solutions with broader AI platforms from an adoption and impact perspective. The session also distinguishes FDA‑cleared clinical imaging AI from general‑purpose generative AI tools used for leadership and operational work, and guides participants in drafting a simple, measurable pilot plan. Through applied examples, participants will evaluate existing productivity assistants and consider how to responsibly build or customize their own with clear guardrails for use in practice.
