Radiology’s Fight Against Prior Authorization Delays
ACR is leading national efforts to make prior authorization more efficient and clinically appropriate while reducing the administrative burden and supporting national legislation.
Read moreACR® has released a new recruitment brochure aimed at strengthening its Contractor Advisory Committee (CAC) Network — a critical initiative that amplifies radiology’s voice in Medicare coverage decisions.
Led by Sammy Chu, MD, FACR, CAC Network Chair; Mark Yeh, MD, MS, MBA, FACR, Vice Chair; and Laeton J. Pang, MD, FACR, Radiation Oncology CAC Network Chair, the CAC Network plays a pivotal role in shaping local and national coverage determinations (LCDs and NCDs) through collaboration with Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs).
The network welcomes radiologists and radiation oncologists dedicated to advancing Medicare policy and patient care. All CAC representatives must be active ACR members and appointed by their state chapter.
The release comes at a crucial time, as Congress considers legislation to amend Title XVIII of the Social Security Act — aimed at increasing transparency and accountability in Medicare’s coverage determination process. The bill proposes reforms to both NCDs and LCDs, areas where CAC representatives play a critical role.
