The U.S. Senate approved a bill to fund the government Nov. 10, by a 60 to 40 vote. The bipartisan funding breakthrough was reached when eight Democratic senators joined Republicans after Senate GOP leaders agreed to hold a vote in December to continue certain healthcare subsidies under the Affordable Care Act.

If enacted, the bill would keep the government running until Jan. 30, and fully fund some areas through Sept. 30, including military construction, veterans’ services, agriculture, the FDA and Congress.

The bill now goes to the U.S. House of Representatives, where a vote could happen as soon as Nov. 11. If it passes there, it will be sent to the president to be signed into law.
