Read moreThe Radiology Health Equity Coalition (RHEC) marked a major milestone Oct. 29, with Communities Crushing Cancer (CCC). CCC is a resident-led initiative that unites 67 radiology residency programs and community health organizations to boost cancer awareness and screening nationwide. CCC showcased radiology’s power in advocacy, with residents leading educational outreach and screening events to promote early detection.
The initiative gained momentum on social media, with inspiring posts from leaders including Dr. Judy Yee, Dr. Farzaneh Rahmani, Loyola University Radiation Oncology Residency, Dr. Lakshmi Priya, Dr. Amy K. Patel and ACR® CEO Dr. Dana Smetherman, along with ACR social media.
Beyond raising awareness, CCC built lasting partnerships between residency programs and local health organizations, laying the groundwork to cement radiology's position as a driving force that impacts and transforms cancer care through community-driven action.
