Read moreThe American College of Radiology® (ACR®) submitted official comments June 9, to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in response to the agency’s request for information (RFI) related to the federal fiscal year (FY) 2026 Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS). CMS sought feedback to its proposal to improve the Medicare program through deregulation.
ACR in its comments requested the elimination of the Deficit Reduction Act cap for imaging services. The College also requested CMS default all costs and charges under the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) to a single diagnostic radiology cost center, and not use CT- and MRI-specific cost centers for valuing services under OPPS and IPPS. ACR included related comments it previously submitted to the U.S. Office of Management and Budget .
