CMS Proposes to Keep Excessive Radiation Dose eCQM Voluntary
ACR urges members to contact CMS to keep the eCQM reporting voluntary indefinitely. The intent of CMS was to make the measure mandatory by 2027.
Read moreACR® created impact tables that illustrate how the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) proposed rule affects specific radiology-related tests and procedures. The tables cover specific proposed changes in reimbursement rates between 2025 and 2026 for each CPT® code. The analysis includes spreadsheets for the 70,000 series CPT codes and the non-70,000 CPT codes billed by radiologists, interventional radiologists and/or radiation oncologists.
There will be two separate conversion factors beginning Jan. 1, resulting from the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). The conversion factor for services provided by a qualifying alternative payment model (APM) participant is proposed to be $33.5875, and services provided by non-APM participants have a proposed conversion factor of $33.4209. ACR staff will re-calculate the impact tables upon the release of the CY2026 MPFS final rule this fall using the finalized conversion factor.
Questions about the MPFS rule impacts should be directed to Katie Keysor, ACR Senior Director of Economic Policy.
