Sept. 18, 2024

The Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) met Sept. 16–17 to hear stakeholder perspectives on developing a pathway toward having all Medicare beneficiaries with Medicare Parts A and B in total-cost of care (TCOC) models. Stakeholders also presented issues regarding data, attribution, benchmarking and risk adjustment.

PTAC was created by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) which was enacted in part to improve how the federal Medicare program pays physicians for the care they provide to Medicare beneficiaries. The next PTAC meeting will take place Dec. 3–4.
