Read moreThe National Cancer Institute (NCI) is sponsoring the Medical Image De-Identification Benchmark Challenge. The challenge invites developers to evaluate their digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) image de-identification tools, emphasizing automated methods that maintain research utility. By utilizing diverse medical imaging data from the NCI’s Cancer Imaging Archive, participants can contribute to the MIDI-B Challenge report as co-authors. Top teams will be given the opportunity to present their algorithms and results at the Medical Imaging Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) 2024 virtual session, fostering advancements in medical imaging and AI.
NCI encourages all developers (independent, academic or industrial) who want to assess their software tool’s performance with rule-based de-identification of DICOM images to register. The registration deadline for the challenge is Aug. 15.
