Members of Congress from both major parties recently demonstrated their support for the physician and non-physician provider communities by sending two letters to Senate leadership urging congressional action to mitigate the 3.37% reduction to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) conversion factor (CF), which was implemented Jan. 1.

The first letter organized by the House doctors caucus, was signed by 88 representatives. The second letter, led by Sen. John Boozman (R-AR) and Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT), was signed by 30 senators and sent to Senate leadership.

The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) and the ACR-led physician and non-physician provider coalition will continue to urge Congress to act to address 2024 Medicare payment reductions as part of a legislative budget package.
