In our commitment to advocate for the highest-quality imaging standards, an important update has been made to phantom criteria and testing for ACR® Nuclear Medicine- and PET-accredited sites. These accreditation changes take effect Jan. 1, 2024.

ACR PET Accreditation Change

Effective Jan. 1, 2024, the mean background criteria for PET phantoms will be changing to 0.90-1.10 for SUV measurements.

ACR Nuclear Medicine (NM) Accreditation Change

Effective Jan. 1, 2024, the definition of a small rectangular field camera for NM phantoms will be changing to smallest dimension < 32 cm (currently it states: longest dimension < 32 cm).

Review the requirements carefully before submitting testing items for accreditation review. Requirements are subject to change at any time. Check ACR requirements frequently for updates.
