Read moreThe Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the quarterly National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) Procedure-to-Procedure (PTP) edits, effective Oct. 1. The NCCI was developed by CMS to promote national correct coding methodologies and to control improper coding that leads to inappropriate payment in Medicare Part B claims. This update includes all previous edits and changes from Jan. 1, 1996, to the present.
The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) urges practices to review the NCCI edits relevant to radiology and make any necessary updates to their systems.
