March 28, 2025
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced March 24, that the Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances (EUC) application for clinicians participating in the 2024 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) will be reopened due to the ongoing national IV fluid shortage. The MIPS EUC application allows clinicians to request full or partial exemption from 2024 MIPS reporting. This application will reopen March 31 and close April 14.

In addition to reopening the EUC application, CMS has extended the deadline for submitting 2024 MIPS data from March 31 to April 14, 8pm ET.

If you have any questions about the EUC application or the extended MIPS submission deadline, contact Zach Smith, American College of Radiology® Senior Quality Programs Specialist.
