Urge Congress to Support Stable Medicare Payments

Radiologists face growing financial strain as Medicare payments fail to keep up with rising costs — putting independent practices and patient access at risk. Legislation was introduced to address these constraints and your voice matters. Tell your lawmakers to cosponsor H.R. 8163.

The bipartisan Provider Reimbursement Stability Act (H.R. 8163), led by Reps. Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC) and Brad Schneider (D-IL), would help stabilize payments by:

  • Updating the budget neutrality threshold (the process by which payment increases are offset by cuts elsewhere in the fee schedule).
  • Requiring regular reviews of practice costs.
  • Improving how CMS fixes inaccurate billing codes.
  • Limiting annual conversion factor swings to +/- 2.5%.

These commonsense reforms would help protect practices and ensure patients can access care. Take action now!  Contact your Representative and urge them to cosponsor H.R. 8163.
