The National Institutes of Health Common Fund launched the Precision Medicine with AI: Integrating Imaging with Multimodal (PRIMED-AI) program and announced five new funding opportunities. PRIMED-AI will combine medical imaging with other health data to develop innovative artificial intelligence-powered clinical decision support tools to advance personalized medicine. Funding opportunities include:

  • The Validation Center (RFA-RM-27-014) to independently verify, validate and assess AI tools developed through the program. Applications are due Oct. 2.
  • The Logistics Center (RFA-RM-27-015) to coordinate program activities and provide administrative, evaluation and outreach support. Applications are due Oct. 2.
  • The Development and Testing of a Multi-use Frameworks Playbook (RFA-RM-27-011) to develop and test standard processes to support responsible AI use, data management and regulatory readiness. Applications are due Oct. 9.
  • The Data-to-Model: An Academic-Industrial Partnership (D2M-AIP) (RFA-RM-27-012) to support academic and industry teams that integrate multimodal data and develop innovative AI-enabled clinical decision support tools. Applications are due Oct. 19.
  • The Model-to-Clinic (M2C) (RFA-RM-27-013) to help move validated clinical decision support tools into real-world clinical settings. Applications are due Oct. 19.
