The Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR®) earned a 5.3 impact factor in the latest Journal Citation Report for 2025. The impact factor is calculated by dividing the number of a journal’s articles cited in scientific journals by the total number of citable articles published in the prior two years. This is up from the most recent 5.1 impact factor.

“The increase in the impact factor reflects JACR’s commitment to high-quality science and shows how much our work matters,” said Ruth C. Carlos, MD, MS, Editor-in-Chief of the JACR. “Our authors, reviewers and readers make this journal stronger with every issue.”

JACR is the official journal of ACR®, providing information about topics that affect the practice of diagnostic radiologists, interventional radiologists, medical physicists and radiation oncologists.
