ACR Supports NIH Funding at the Rally for Medical Research

ACR^® joined more than 400 advocates, patients, physicians, researchers and scientists at the 14th annual Rally for Medical Research Sept. 17. Participants urged Congress to provide at least $51.3 billion for NIH in federal fiscal year (FY) 2027.

As part of the event’s Hill Day, advocates met with lawmakers and congressional staff to highlight the importance of sustained NIH funding to support innovative medical research and drive new discoveries. Participants also urged preventing the Office of Management and Budget from finalizing or implementing proposed grantmaking changes that would disrupt the federal research process.

Advocates also attended a reception with NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD, who thanked participants for their continued passion and efforts, as well as for sharing their support for NIH funding with Congress.

ACR is committed to advocating for the highest possible NIH funding levels and will continue working with coalition partners through events such as the Rally for Medical Research to ensure radiology's voice is heard.
