Commission on Radiation Oncology

The ACR Commission on Radiation Oncology serves as the coordinator for radiation oncology-related activities in the College.

Commission Goals

  • Create short-term and long-term strategic plans to address radiation oncology member concerns and needs
  • Enhance the visibility of radiation oncology in the ACR
  • Continue to develop new educational programs and venues for radiation oncology
  • Enhance specific task groups; e.g., Radiation Oncology Publicity Work Group
  • Continue to produce maintenance of certification tools for radiation oncologists
  • Work on efforts to retain and increase radiation oncology membership in the ACR
  • Examine the area of economically motivated radiotherapy utilization by non-radiation oncologists
  • Continue to improve integration with other commissions and ACR staff to address common concerns

The ACR needs to work collectively to address concerns that affect its radiation oncology membership just as radiation oncology members of the ACR address the concerns and issues facing their diagnostic radiology colleagues.
