Hello YPS Members,

This year, I will be penning regular correspondence with you to keep you apprised of what our YPS Executive Committee is doing on your behalf.

We are so proud to announce the unveiling of the ACR YPS Webinar Series, where we will be hosting a series of webinars throughout the year with timely topics affecting young radiologists in this country. We will also be collaborating with various organizations and societies to diversify the content and ensure it is relevant to you. Please be on the lookout via email and social media to register for these offerings, free with your ACR membership!

The ACR YPS is also proud to partner with Cody Quirk, MD, and The Hounsfield Unit Podcast (@HounsfieldPod). This podcast will feature bite sized, meaningful, relevant, and honest discussions about topics affecting young radiologists in this country such as addressing health inequities in our patient populations, wellness, and venture capital groups and radiology. Stay tuned on twitter and other YPS media channels for more information!

Additionally, this summer we will be periodically releasing short videos via Twitter (@ACRYPS) of each YPS Executive Committee member so you can get to know each one of us, including what we hope to achieve for you this year.

Finally, I will end each Desk of the Chair message giving a well-deserved kudos to those in the YPS who are working hard and doing incredible things. I want to give kudos to Taj Kattapuram, MD, J. Paul Nielsen, MD, and Andy Moriarity, MD, for spearheading and sponsoring Resolution 35 at the ACR Annual Meeting, allowing the RFS and YPS to submit resolutions to play a more active role in the ACR governance process. This was a huge victory for our young demographic and I appreciate their persistence in seeing this through. To learn more about their work, read this article that was published in the ACR Bulletin in July.

During these unprecedented times, I feel it is imperative that we find additional ways to connect and ensure we are working on your behalf and advocating for your best interests. I have an open-door policy, so please feel free to contact me at any time at amykpatel64112@gmail.com with questions, concerns, or ideas to assist in enriching the offerings of the YPS.

I look forward to hearing from you!
