The R-SCAN project was funded by a Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative grant conducted from 2015 through 2019 to enable radiologists and referring clinicians to collaborate on improving the appropriateness of imaging exams ordered.
Over 100 practices participated in an R-SCAN project by implementing a Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle to improve imaging care for some of the most frequently ordered exams to include imaging for low back pain, suspected pulmonary embolism, and minor head trauma.
