The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) recently circulated four American Medical Association/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) surveys to a random selection of ACR members. The four surveys will ask questions related to the time and intensity of work involved with new or revised codes pertaining to ultrasound elastography, MRI-monitored transurethral ultrasound of the prostate, computed tomographic guidance for needle placement and transcranial doppler.
If you receive a survey, the ACR encourages you to complete it as soon as possible. We are working in coordination with several other specialties. If you receive a survey for these codes from another society, please only complete one of the surveys.
The data collected from these surveys will be presented at the upcoming September 2023 RUC meeting in Chicago. The RUC-approved values will be shared with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for their consideration and inclusion in the 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.
