Randomized Phase II/III Trial Of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy Versus Elective Neck Dissection For Early-Stage Oral Cavity Cancer

NRG Oncology opened a Phase II/III trial to determine if patients who undergo a sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy instead of standard neck dissection for early stage oral cavity cancer experience better neck and shoulder function and less discomfort while maintaining a similar rate of disease recurrence. Sites can use either Lymphoseek or sulfur colloid as the imaging agent for the SNL biopsy.
