The American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), through its Alliance for Quality Computed Tomography, has posted adult CT colonography protocols. These include a sampling of manufacturer- and model-specific protocols for all of the applicable manufacturers of CT equipment currently sold in the US.
The working group is composed of academic and consulting medical physicists who specialize in CT imaging along with representatives from CT equipment manufacturers and the American College of Radiology, American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The members of the working group consider these protocols reasonable and task-appropriate, and the settings representative of typical clinical values, even though they may not always match default protocols.
