#HeForShe. You may have come across this hashtag on social media, in e-mails and at previous ACR meetings. What is it all about?
#HeForShe is a solidarity movement by the United Nations Women which promotes gender equity across all spectrums, including healthcare, education, politics, identity, violence, and work. As a result, this effort has now permeated into medicine with subspecialties such as surgery and radiology taking a stand and promoting gender equity at specialty society meetings and on social media.
Not attending #ACR2019? You can still show your support for #HeForShe by joining our social media photo campaign. Work with your colleagues to explain how male radiologists can support development, career growth and equity for female radiologists. Share ideas and photos using the hashtags #ACR2019 and #HeForShe. Don’t forget to tell us who’s in the photo and which institution you’re from using Twitter handles and hashtags. We’ll be retweeting those of you who are with us in spirit as we advance the work of the ACR’s Commission on Women and Diversity.
