ACR Launches New Fund for Collaborative Research in Imaging Grant

New Funding Source Empowers Cutting-Edge Radiology Research
Researchers can now apply for the new Fund for Collaborative Research in Imaging Grant to power compelling, innovative research that advances radiology practice. This one-time American College of Radiology® (ACR®) Center for Research and Innovation grant fuels pilot projects to test a new idea or support a new area of clinical radiology research.

“As radiology touches nearly all patient care, this new grant can empower ACR member researchers to move medicine forward. We are proud to offer this funding at a critical time for radiology and the patients we serve,” said Pamela K. Woodard, MD, FACR, Chair of the ACR Commission on Research.

Grants may address a specific hypothesis and gain preliminary data that can be used to bolster applications to national peer-reviewed funding agencies. The project must use ACR staff expertise or systems and outline a plan for future science and funding growth. Applicants must be ACR members.

“The FCRI Grant can help cutting-edge radiology research lift off – laying the groundwork for future studies that change the face of medicine. I strongly urge clinical researchers to apply for this new funding,” said ACR Chief Research Officer Etta D. Pisano, MD, FACR.

More than one proposal may be funded but the total for all awards is limited to $400,000. Individuals or groups may submit applications with a total budget of up to $200,000.

Applicants must submit a complete application to Research@acr.org by 5pm ET on Jan. 15, 2021.
