ACR Continues Work to Protect Health Care Access and Choice

The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) believes that all Americans should have access to affordable, high quality health care — including lifesaving medical imaging and radiation oncology services.

The American College of Radiology® (ACR®) believes that all Americans should have access to affordable, high quality health care — including lifesaving medical imaging and radiation oncology services. We believe we can best achieve policies that advance patient care and choice by maintaining an independent voice.

The ACR appreciates the national dialogue regarding the shared goal of producing a modern, effective, affordable and equitable health care system. The Partnership for America’s Health Care Future has played a valuable role in raising the visibility of these issues. Such robust debate will continue in the months ahead.

While no longer an active member of the Partnership, the ACR will continue to work toward a system that lowers costs, protects patient choice, expands access, improves quality and fosters innovation.

As radiology touches nearly every aspect of patient care, the ACR will concentrate on ensuring that sound medical policies that recognize the critical contribution of radiologists, interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists are part of the solution to the health care challenges that we must meet together.

The ACR looks forward to working with all stakeholders as the country strives to reach a consensus on these important yet complex and difficult issues.
