ACR Launches Surveys for January 2020 RUC Meeting

The American College of Radiology® (ACR) has announced plans to disseminate three Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) surveys by Friday, October 25, 2019, to collect crucial data for the next American Medical Association RUC (AMA/RUC) meeting in Phoenix.

Two RUC surveys pertain to physician work related to radiologic examination of the eye and venography. The third, a multi-specialty survey, will be circulated by the Society of Interventional Radiology. It will focus on the practice expense involved in medical physics dose evaluation.

RUC surveys are distributed to a random sample of the ACR membership. If you receive a survey, you will be prompted to apply your clinical expertise as you respond to time and value questions related to the given service.

This is a short RUC cycle, so we encourage everyone who receives a survey and performs the procedure to submit their completed questionnaires at their earliest convenience.

Survey data will then be aggregated and analyzed to form our recommendations for the RUC meeting. Recommendations approved at the AMA/RUC meeting will be relayed to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for final authorization and publication in the 2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.

The ACR values your active participation. Questions may be addressed to ACR RUC staff member Christy Buranaamorn or by phone at (703) 648-8900 x5653. Thank you for your time and effort.
