The Joint Committee on Public Health in Massachusetts heard testimony December 19 on a series of bills related to scope of practice.
The bills included scope of practice of chiropractors, truth in advertising, nursing and practice of medical physicists.
House Bill 1887 establishes a licensing board for medical physics. The Massachusetts Radiological Society and the Massachusetts chapter of the AAPM have indicated support for the bill.
The committee also heard House Bill 1862, an act to promote team-based care, addressing aspects of multidisciplinary health care teams and further regulating advanced practice nurses.
