American College of Radiology (ACR) staff joined members of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) at the College’s Reston, VA, headquarters Nov. 1-–3 to discuss collaborative opportunities relating to radiation protection education and monitoring.
CRCPD was represented by Executive Director Ruth McBurney, board members and federal partners at the planning session for the conference’s 2017 annual meeting in Scottsdale, AZ.
For the ACR, Eugenia Krimer Brandt, the College’s director of state and regulatory affairs, represented the government relations staff. Theresa Branham and Pamela Platt spoke for the ACR’s quality and safety unit.
ACR staff expressed interest in sponsoring a speaker and a presentation covering either state and federal regulation of fluoroscopy dose or electronically generated low-energy radiation sources at the CRCPD annual meeting. CRCPD and the ACR often work in partnership to achieve mutual goals of radiological protection for the public and patients.
