Changing ACR leadership is filtering down to affect its representation on the Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) Editorial Panel.
Geraldine McGinty, MD, FACR, will step down after four years on the RUC Panel to assume new duties as vice-chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors. Her departure was effective after the April RUC meeting.
Ezequiel Silva III, MD, FACR, transitioned from his role as the ACR’s RUC advisor to replace McGinty as a RUC panel member. Silva also will succeed McGinty as chair of the Commission on Economics. After three years as alternate RUC advisor under Silva, Kurt Schoppe, MD, was promoted to become RUC advisor.
Richard A. Duszak, MD, FACR will step down after serving eight years on the AMA CPT Editorial Panel. Kathy Krol, MD, FACR, interventional radiologist, will remain on the panel, and Daniel Picus, MD, FACR will remain as the ACR’s CPT advisor.
