With many state legislatures in full swing, it is good to know the American College of Radiology (ACR) can provide its state chapters and their staffs with many resources to boost the effectiveness of their legislative monitoring and advocacy efforts.
The ACR state affairs staff itself is a key resource for important issues on the state level including teleradiology, licensing and practice requirements, certificate of need (CON) laws, billing issues, and medical liability reform. To learn about advocacy and to utilize the resources on state-related issues please explore the following.Tracking Legislation
StateScape is a service contracted by the ACR to provide periodic updates on all legislation relevant to radiology, radiation oncology, medical physics and imaging business practices. To receive weekly alerts from StateScape for bills currently being tracked in your state, please contact email@example.com.

- ACR Chapter Leaders Portal>ACR resources>Government Relations>State GR: This resource library contains documents and forms collected by staff to assist chapter officers and executives.
- Grassroots and Radiology Advocacy Network (RAN): We now have capability to send targeted calls-to-action alerts at state level by working with the CQ Engage vendor. Please contact staff to learn more about this feature!
The staff can help facilitate “guest caller” interaction during quarterly State Government Relations Committee discussions on various legislative issues affecting radiologists across the country. During the calls, members from ACR chapters who have questions or are experiencing difficulties with legislation on the state level can communicate with their colleagues and hopefully take away important feedback for their chapters’ strategy.
